Hamilton Builders’ Supply supplies a powdered color of your choice to float into your concrete project, a coloured release for a secondary colour if desired, we rent or sell a set of mats to emboss a pattern into the concrete, and finally a Sealer to apply to protect your new project
A section of floor in the showroom has been removed and prepared with Deck-o-foam expansion joint, wire mesh and back-up brick to support the mesh for a “Stamped Concrete Demo”
The concrete is placed and raked out. A straight 2 x 6 wood screed is used to level out the concrete and insures there are no low areas.
The concrete floor has just been floated with a magnesium Bull Float. The concrete and is now ready to add a Shake-on Colorant.
A Dark Brown Shake-on Colorant has been broadcast over the concrete and floated in.
The mats are designed to work as a set. As you move across your work you can lift up the first mat and fit it into the pattern and work your way across the concrete. * You can use a liquid release if you don’t want to add any color. Acid Stain can be used to add color after the concrete has set and if done before sealing the concrete.
Once the concrete has set up enough to start stamping, you can broadcast the Spectrum Powder Release to add a second color to the floated floor. This will also prevent the concrete from sticking to the rubber mats.
Once the Concrete has had sufficient time to set up and cure you can wash off the excess Powder Release. You now have a two tone coloured embossed concrete.
The first coat of Decra-Seal has been applied and will prevent dirt from contaminating the newly placed concrete while the concrete cures and hardens. Once the Cure and Seal is dry and the concrete cures for 7 days we can then re-coat with a final coat of Decra-Seal Concrete Sealer.
